You might recognize this friendly yellow flower, as droves of them cover the forest floor in spring and early summer. This species is perfect for north and east gardens, or below large trees. Flowering time depends on microclimate, and plants that warm up first in the spring (say along an east-facing wall) will flower first. Extra water throughout the season will keep them flowering until well into September. Individual plants will slowly spread to form a colony of heart-shaped leaves.
