This is our shortest bunchgrass, and the small stature makes it ideal for garden edges and around hardscaping. The tidy bluegreen foliage is accented by a thick bouquet of large gold flowering seedheads in early summer. Junegrass requires well-drained soil and plenty of sun (so keep it away from taller plantings that might compete for light!). This is a good option for harsh sites along sidewalks and sunny walls. Plant with hairy golden aster, cushion buckwheat, woolly groundsel, and fuzzytongue penstemon.
