Green rabbitbrush is rubber rabbitbrush's shorter greener cousin, but with equally vibrant late-summer yellow flowers. This xeric shrub needs no irrigation (following establishment) yet somehow manages to add vibrance to the grassland (or garden!) when practically all other plants have gone dormant or cured for the season.
This little shrub needs bright sun and well drained soils. Plant with white prairie aster, Missouri goldenrod, and curlycup gumweed to give your pollinators some late-season resources. And don't forget some bluebunch wheatgrass to complete the picture.
